GUS — Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 23, 2026
What the extension does
Gus replaces your new tab page with a personal bookmark dashboard for browsing and organising your bookmarks and folders.
Data accessed
This extension accesses your browser bookmarks (via the chrome.bookmarks API) and uses local storage (via the chrome.storage API) to save your preferences such as dark mode and AI provider settings.
Data transmission
- No data is collected or transmitted by default. The extension works entirely locally.
-
If you choose to enable AI-powered bookmark suggestions, bookmark data (titles and URLs) may be sent to:
- Gus AI: requests are sent through gus-api.evoluadigital.com. Data is used only to generate suggestions and is not stored on our servers.
- Ollama: requests are sent to a local instance on your machine (localhost:11434). No data leaves your device.
- AI features are opt-in. Configure Ollama for complete privacy.
Data storage
- Your preferences (dark mode, selected AI model) are stored locally in your browser's extension storage.
- No data is stored on external servers by this extension.
Third-party services
This extension does not use analytics, tracking, or advertising services. The only external services contacted are the AI providers listed above, and only when explicitly configured by the user.
