02

Star your favorites for instant access

The sites you use every day deserve a shortcut. Star any bookmark and it shows up right on your home screen — one click, no digging.

Discover AI
03

An assistant that knows what you like

The Discover panel looks at what's in your current folder and suggests new sites you might love. By default, Gus AI handles suggestions through our own backend — fast, and ready to go with no setup. If you'd rather nothing leave your computer at all, connect Ollama and the AI runs entirely on your machine instead.

  • No API key required
  • Local-only mode with Ollama
  • Suggestions tuned to each folder

No accounts. No cloud storage. Just your bookmarks.

Gus is a personal tool, not a data business. Here's the short version of how it works.

No account needed

Install Gus and start using it right away.

Stored on your device

Your bookmarks live in Chrome, where they already are — never on our servers.

AI suggestions, your choice

Gus AI works out of the box through our own backend, no key needed. Want nothing to leave your computer? Connect Ollama and suggestions run entirely on your machine.

FAQ

A few things people usually ask.

Where do I find Gus after installing?
Open a new browser tab — that's where Gus lives. It automatically replaces Chrome's default new tab page, so there's nothing extra to open or set up.
Is Gus free?
Yes — completely free to use right now.
Do I need an account?
No. Install it and your existing Chrome bookmarks are already there.
What happens to my bookmarks if I uninstall Gus?
Nothing — they're your Chrome bookmarks, untouched. Gus never moves or migrates anything.
How does the AI Discover panel work?
By default, it uses Gus's own AI backend — no setup, no API key needed. If you'd rather keep everything local, connect Ollama and suggestions run entirely on your machine, never touching the cloud.
My bookmarks are a mess — will Gus organize them for me automatically?
Gus displays your existing Chrome folders in a clean, visual layout, but it won't automatically reorganize a messy collection for you. You can create folders, drag bookmarks between them, and rearrange things directly inside Gus — the same way you would in Chrome's bookmark manager, just in a much nicer interface.
Will Gus work on other browsers?
Yes — since Gus is built as a Chrome extension, it works automatically on any Chromium-based browser, including Brave, Edge, Opera, Vivaldi, Arc, and Yandex. Just install it the same way, through the Chrome Web Store. Firefox isn't Chromium-based, so a separate version is planned for the future.

Your bookmarks, finally organized.
